The land pooling done by the erstwhile Telugu Desam Government in Amaravati Area was a real estate scam and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was a prime accused in it. The sale of Assigned lands (land distributed to under privileged sections by govt.) was unauthorised and part of the same real estate scam said advisor to the Government (public affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.
Addressing the media at the YSR Congress Party Central office here on Friday (March 26) he alleged that land pooling was a scam of Rs 1 lakh crore and that it was hatched up for the benefit of Mr Naidu’s cronies and henchmen. He said that assigned land was taken by force from the Dalits to whom it belonged. They were told that if they did not sell it they would not get any compensation.
The TDP Government issued Government Order 41 with the intention of terrorising those with assigned lands. The Telugu Desam leaders then purchased the land at very low price, Mr Ramachandra Reddy pointed out. The former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and former Municipal Minister P Narayana were signatories of G O 41 and therefore first and second accused in a case filed against them. Now they were trying to circulate videos in which Dalits claimed that they sold the assigned lands voluntarily.Mr Ramakrishna Reddy said if Mr Naidu was not involved in the scam he should cooperative with the investigation. In a separate media conference Dalit MLA Merugu Nagarjuna said that Dalits were given the impression that they would lose everything. These who purchased assigned lands paid in lakhs, but they were able to dispose of the same for crores, he said.
